SUBJECT                    : Circular to Parents – June 2013

 

 

1.   Welcome back to all students. We are now entering the second half of the academic year. Let us be seriously reminded of our purpose and our earnestness in working together to achieve excellence especially in the academic area. Students are reminded to be serious, conscientious, avoid unnecessary absence from school and observe all school rules.

 

2.   SPM Oral Examinations

i.    Bahasa Melayu: These will be conducted on 13/6, 14/6 and 17/6/2013 (Thursday, Friday and Monday). from 8.00 am - 12.30 pm daily. Students are to be ready 15 minutes earlier. Students are reminded to bring along their Identity Cards and to come on time for the exams. They are also reminded to dress neatly and exercise decorum at all times during these exams. Absence from these exams means failure for the whole Bahasa Melayu paper.

ii.   English: These will be conducted on 24/6, 25/6 and 26/6/13 (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday). These are also conducted between 8.00 am - 12.30 pm.  Other requirements are as stated above.

iii. Chinese: Will be conducted on 1st July, 2013 (Monday). There are only 2 candidates involved. These are conducted at the Assessment and Examination Unit (Kuching District Education Office) at Kilometer 4, Jalan Matang, Kuching.  Students are reminded to be there by 7.45 am.

 

3.   Report Card Day for Primary 6, Form 3 and 5

Parents of students in Primary 6, Form 3 and 5 are invited to receive their child/children’s report cards from the Form teachers on Saturday, 15th June.  Form teachers are available in the respective classrooms from 8.30 - 11.00 am.  Please use this opportunity to discuss your children’s performance and other relevant issues.

 

4.   Parent-Teacher Interview for non-exam classes

The second PTI will be conducted 18/6-19/6/13 (Tuesday and Wednesday). Parents are invited to contact teachers to discuss your children’s performance and other issues on those dates. Please call Mrs Lucy Lim (School Secretary) or Madam Amy Wong (Clerk, Lodge International) to make the necessary arrangements with the teachers concerned.

 

5.   Fund Raising Project at PIBAKAT and PERKATA

The Form 4 students of Lodge National Secondary School are organizing a fund-raising project at PIBAKAT and PERKATA (No. 9, Jalan Ridgeway, Off Jalan Ong  Tiang Swee) on 15th June (Saturday) as part of their Moral Studies Coursework.  This project is organized to raise funds and to collect donations for physically and mentally disabled children. All proceeds will be donated to PIBATAT, Blind Centre and other associations.  The projected collection is RM20,000.00. There will be food and drinks booths, gaming booths, and car wash, and lucky draws.  All sponsorships are to be forwarded to Mr Govin (0128909410) or to Mdm. Halimah (0138263515). Food and drinks, toys and clothings are welcome as donations. All parents and students are invited. Thank you for your support.

 

6.   Payment of School Fees (3rd Term)

The last date for payment of school fees for 3rd term is 28th June (Friday).

 

7.   School Security and space  

All parents/drivers are reminded of the following:

i.    Please wear the Security Pass when you are in the school compound while sending/fetching your child/children to/from school.

ii.   Please display the Lodge School car sticker on your car. The stickers are available at the school office for purchase.

iii. Parents are requested to not remain at the canteen area after sending your child/children’s food as this area cannot accommodate children and parents at the same time.
